Love, this one word brings on many others. The question is what is love? Is it the trees, the warm breeze, and the sea of flowers and grass that stretches beyond the horizon? Is it the person you love dearly and sit down with to watch the sunset while holding their hand? Or is it your family, your loving and caring family full of people that will always be there to support you? Is it a place where you feel safe? Or is love, everything?

　　When you were a baby, the first people you had learnt to love, is your parents, simply because they were always there. They were there when you cried, when you laughed, when you smiled, when you needed them. They were there to support you and to hope your future shines bright. They were there when you spoke your first word, and they were there when you took your first step. But, most importantly, they were there to love you.

　　When you were a child, love for you was still your parents, but also your occupations. Your love could be for sports, literature, writing, playing, singing, dancing, etc... With all of those games and hobbies, people tend to forget to love and be thankful to other things .It doesn’t matter what you love, but what you’ll forget to love.

　　When you were a teenager, your love was probably for your studies, education, and of course, your friends. Friends are important and are always there for each other. Friends share secrets together, laugh together, share together, and have fun together. Friends stay together.

　　When you reached adulthood, you got a job, a wife or husband, and children. That’s what love is for you now. Your family comes first, before anything else. It is the most important thing. To love and care for your family is a big job. Even though you have work, family is not to be forgotten. Of course, you’ve had quarrels, and of course, there had been disagreements, but you’re a family.

Despite the fact that family, friends, and love is important, some families make the crucial decision to place their child in and orphanage. That is an abandon that affects the child very much. For example, Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter was placed in an orphanage and grew up there. Feeling abandoned and forgotten, he did very bad things. In the quote, above, Harry tells Voldemort that he’s the weak one, since he had not ever in his life known love or friendship. That proves that to live a life, one needs love.

　　In some places, love is despised. Some decide to reject it because they were rejected from love. Some have lost a lot and don’t want to lose any more. Some try to avoid it, and refuse to go forward towards love. But that is in vain, because, what is life without love? “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” Martin Luther King Jr.
