Writing Contest for the 10th Anniversary Celebration of Elite College This Thursday morning Yi Xuan Huang, 12 years old, 2014 |
- Good morning Yi Xuan ! I turned my head. It was my friend, wearing the most beautiful dress ever. All the students in grade 6 were standing behind her. I quickly got to my place in the line, reached the stage and sat on my seat. The audience applauded. I saw my parents among the people and the whole school was looking at us. I was nervous, but happy. It wasn't a morning like the others, it was my graduation. My director called us one by one to receive our elementary school certificate. I hold my teacher tightly, and I examined the simple paper. When I took it, I was very emotional. I was proud of myself to be graduating after 6 years of studying, but I was also sad and disappointed to leave my school and all the people who helped me during this first step of my life. My principal continued his long speech. He thanked a teacher named Roger who taught in my school for almost 35 years, and who will be in retirement soon. Then, on the big screen, pictures of us appeared. For example, there was photos of our trip to New York, our Christmas show or our Halloween party. Each one of them brought me a lot of memories, happiness and nostalgia. I closed my eyes and smiled. Finally, there was a buffet for everyone. I ate cakes, cookies, and other deserts. I was pleased but soon after, the morning was finished. The last day of my primary school was finished, too. What an important morning. Goodbye my classmates and friends, my classmates who, together, we passed most of our time. With whom we shared our best moments, worst moments, annoying moments, and our shameful moments. With whom we learned new things and played funny games, and from whom we have to be separated. Goodbye my teachers and principal, my teachers who taught me from a baby until I became a polite, intelligent and thoughtful student. Who were always understanding me. Who encouraged me and lead me to find my way. Who were qualified and gave me their knowledge, and who helped me to become what I am today. I left my school slowly. I don't have to forget any of them, ever. |
