Writing Contest for the 10th Anniversary Celebration of Elite College Ms. Parnass Kaixuan Wang, E203, grade 5, 11 years old, 2014 |
I had gone to an English school for several terms when I came to Montreal. Ms. Parnass was my grade one English teacher. She was very nice and she was the teacher that I recalled most often. I will never forget the English knowledge Ms. Parnass taught me. She always knew how to make the students understand the grammar and vocabulary, which we could use in writing and speaking. I never felt learning English was learning, but rather playing, with Ms. Parnass. Ms. Parnass could always print the new words into our brain using simple pictures. In her class, each student could use a pictured dictionary. When I saw a new word, Ms. Parnass could always make me know it with a very simple explanation. Ms. Parnass gave me a lot of courage to be in an English school, as I came from China and knew nothing about the English language before entering this school. In a few months with Ms. Parnass, I could speak and understand English well, I could even read some English literature. Ms. Parnass was an experienced English teacher. Every student liked to be in her class. I hoped that she was my teacher all my time. But in Montreal, you have a new teacher every year. When I left that English school for a French school after we got the immigration, Ms. Parnass talked with my father on how to keep me learning English and gave me an English pronunciation book. sI still like learning English and feel comfortable with it, owe to my beloved Ms. Parnass. |
